Frequently asked questions

Everything buyers need to know about Arelon’s buyer-first sourcing marketplace, buying office operations, and how sourcing works through our system.

Understanding Arelon

About Arelon

What exactly is Arelon?

Arelon is a buyer-first sourcing marketplace powered by a structured buying office in India. Buyers submit sourcing requirements, and Arelon manages supplier discovery, development, production coordination, and quality control through on-ground sourcing operations.

Is Arelon a marketplace or a buying office?

Arelon combines both. The marketplace layer structures buyer demand and project initiation. The buying office layer executes sourcing operations, manages manufacturers, and controls workflows.

How is Arelon different from Alibaba or supplier portals?

Arelon does not list products or promote suppliers. Buyers do not browse catalogs. Every project starts with a buyer requirement and is executed through a managed sourcing workflow. Arelon takes operational responsibility instead of only providing contacts.

How Arelon works

How do buyers start working with Arelon?

Buyers submit a structured sourcing request through Arelon. Our internal team reviews feasibility, discusses requirements, and creates a sourcing plan. Once aligned, the project is activated through our buying office system.

Do buyers work directly with suppliers?

Arelon coordinates all supplier interactions, development cycles, production follow-ups, and quality processes. Buyers stay informed and in control, while Arelon manages execution.

Can Arelon handle custom product development?

Yes. Arelon is designed for requirement-based sourcing. This includes custom designs, private label products, material development, and specification-based manufacturing.

Which categories does Arelon support?

Arelon operates across multiple sourcing categories including textiles, home products, lifestyle goods, décor, and manufacturing-driven product lines. Category support continues to expand.

Suppliers & quality

Manufacturers, quality & risk control

How does Arelon select manufacturers?

Manufacturers are activated based on project requirements and evaluated for capability, capacity, compliance, and development suitability. Arelon does not operate open supplier listings.

How does Arelon manage quality?

Arelon coordinates sampling, specification approvals, development stages, production monitoring, and final inspection checkpoints before dispatch.

Does Arelon arrange third-party testing and compliance?

Yes. Where required, Arelon coordinates third-party testing, documentation, and compliance processes according to buyer and market needs.

What happens if issues arise during production?

Arelon manages communication, corrective actions, and production coordination. Our role is to protect buyer interests and maintain execution control.

Commercials

Pricing, payments & engagement

How does Arelon charge buyers?

Arelon operates on a structured service and sourcing model depending on project scope. Commercials are discussed after requirement review and sourcing feasibility assessment.

Do buyers pay suppliers directly?

Payment structures can vary by project. In most cases, buyers contract and pay suppliers directly, while Arelon manages sourcing operations and coordination.

Does Arelon work on long-term sourcing programs?

Yes. Arelon is designed for repeat sourcing, ongoing development, and long-term buying operations, not one-time transactions.

Is Arelon suitable for small buyers?

Arelon works best with buyers who treat sourcing as an operational function — brands, importers, retailers, and growing sourcing teams.
